Standalone audio files
The audio filter keeps a direct file classified as audio by its supported extension or as an audio-only stream. An audio track embedded in MP4/WebM video remains part of the video result, not a separate file here.

Why an Instagram audio download may be unavailable
- The Reel only exposes a video with sound
- SSGram does not split a soundtrack out of MP4 or WebM. Use the Reels or Video Downloader if you want the complete clip.
- No separate audio-only format is returned
- The source may not provide a standalone audio stream for that post. The presence of sound during playback does not mean an audio-only file is available.
- The link or post is inaccessible
- Check that you copied a full HTTPS Instagram post or Reel link. Private, removed, sign-in-restricted or temporarily unavailable media cannot be retrieved.
- The audio format is unsupported
- SSGram accepts M4A, MP3, AAC and OGG. Other formats are filtered out, and supported files are passed through without conversion.

How do I download audio from Instagram with SSGram?+

Can I download audio from an Instagram Reel separately?+
Only when the source provides a separate audio-only stream that the extractor can access. If the Reel offers sound only as part of its video file, SSGram does not split out that soundtrack.
Does SSGram convert Instagram audio to MP3?+
No. The backend accepts MP3 when it is returned by the source, along with formats such as M4A, AAC and OGG. SSGram passes through a supported audio file and does not convert video or other audio formats to MP3.
