TEMPORARY BY DESIGN
An Instagram Story has a limited lifetime
Instagram Stories are normally temporary and disappear from regular Story viewing after about 24 hours. Saving with SSGram is only possible while the original Story link and a supported video remain available; expired content cannot be restored here.

The current Story extraction path returns supported video files only. It does not return photo-only Stories through this tool. The format and dimensions depend on what Instagram and the extractor make available; SSGram does not convert or upscale the file.
A Story may also be unavailable because it expired, was removed, belongs to a private or sign-in-restricted account, or is temporarily inaccessible. SSGram cannot recover expired content or bypass restrictions.

Troubleshooting an Instagram Story URL
- Expired Story
- Stories are normally temporary. If the original Story has expired and is not available through a Highlight, SSGram cannot bring it back.
- Invalid URL
- Use the full HTTPS link to an individual Story, commonly in the form instagram.com/stories/username/story-id. A profile link is not a Story URL.
- Unavailable Story
- The account may be private, the Story may have been removed, or Instagram may no longer expose its media to the extractor.
- Unsupported content
- This page currently returns supported video files only. A photo-only Story or a link to another type of Instagram page will not produce a Story video result.

How do I download an Instagram Story?+
Copy the direct link to an accessible Story, paste it into the downloader at the top of this page, and submit it. If SSGram can retrieve media from that link, open the result page and use its download button to save the file.
Can I save an Instagram Story before it disappears?+
You can try while the Story and its media are still accessible. Paste its direct link into SSGram and save any returned file promptly; the downloader cannot preserve a Story that has already expired or become unavailable.
Why is an Instagram Story no longer available?+
A Story link may stop working after the Story expires or is removed. It may also be inaccessible because the account or media is private, sign-in restricted, or no longer served by Instagram. SSGram cannot recover expired or restricted content.
Can I download Instagram Stories without an app?+
Yes. SSGram runs in a web browser, so no separate downloader app is required. You need a direct Instagram Story link that the service can access; SSGram does not ask for your Instagram password.
What is the difference between a Story and a Highlight?+
A Story is a temporary post, while a Highlight is a collection displayed on a profile that may remain available longer. SSGram handles them through different link types: paste the direct Story URL here, or use the Instagram Highlights Downloader for a supported Highlight link.
Privacy & permissions
Only publicly accessible content is supported. We never ask for your Instagram password. Links and results are deleted after a short retention period. Download only content you own or have permission to use.
